Biden the New Bush?

Thursday, January 1, 2009
Oh jeez, just as we're finally ridding ourselves of our mentally challenged leader Bush, whose hazy thought patterns are embarrassingly on display whenever he speaks, now Joe Biden seems to be stepping up to fill the void. Today on CNN I heard Joe Biden, speaking about the stimulus package from prepared remarks, say this:

"The greater threat to our economy lies in doing too little, rather than in not doing enough."

Aw Christ, here we go again... WTF does this mean? Aren't those two things in fact the same thing? It's more empty words with no connection to truth or meaning, just a hollow parroting of seemingly credible sounding statements strung together... sort of the way most of by book reports sounded in grade school when I hadn't read the books.

The strange thing is this was included as part of a CNN soundbite in a regular story about the economy, and this comment was presented like some wise words on the matter. In other words, no one caught it! WTF is going on? Is it going to be Bush all over again, where the first 4 years no one can admit how frightfully dumb he is, and then the second 4 years people suddenly wake up and are surprised at the results?

Oy vey, here we go again...
